A high-purity ground calcium carbonate
Bahamian oolites are a pure form of calcium carbonate, white to tan and low in iron. Milled fine it becomes a calcium carbonate powder for cosmetics, plastics, and paints, or in industry terms a ground calcium carbonate, GCC, taken down to the micron size your process calls for. The typical analysis published elsewhere on this site describes the material as harvested. A milled grade is a different product with its own purity and its own gradation, so we send you the analysis for the grade you're actually qualifying instead of a standard sheet.
Milled to ultra-fine sizes
We size every load to gradation at our own facility, and mill down to ultra-fine so the material can go where a coarse sand can't. Where a standard size is too coarse, tighter and custom micron gradations are available on request.
Consistent, load after load
We dig at sites chosen for uniform test results, so the material is consistent before it is ever milled. Uniform chemistry, load after load, from a carbonate that behaves the same batch after batch.
A renewable source
Aragonite keeps forming where Atlantic waters converge with the Gulf Stream, which makes it a renewable mineral resource. For a company working toward more sustainable products, it is a 100% renewable input.

Figures are issued per grade, not published as a single typical analysis. A milled powder and the sand it was milled from do not share a gradation.

Aragonite Source is in the hands of the former principals of Marcona, who harvested aragonite at Ocean Cay from the 1970s into the early 2000s. Today we dig in close conjunction with the Bahamian government, at sites that earn their place on test uniformity and on renewability.
We've sold millions of tons across 50+ years and hundreds of customers, and we mill to ultra-fine sizes for the markets that need them. Delivery moves on our own truck fleet plus rail out of our own yard. Consistent, and on time.
Milling to order changes the product and not the promise. On time, always to specification. We have never had a rejected load, and we have never failed to meet customer demand.
