Purity you can formulate around
Bahamian oolitic aragonite is a very pure calcium carbonate. On the spec sheet: CaCO₃ 96% minimum, Fe₂O₃ 80 ppm maximum, moisture under 1%. A high-purity, low-iron calcium keeps your formulation clean and predictable.
Uniform chemistry, load after load
Our oolites are ovular grains built from needle-like crystals that precipitate uniformly on the ocean floor. The chemistry stays consistent from one load to the next. Less reformulation, fewer surprises at the mixer.
A more digestible calcium
Oolitic aragonite is a purer, more digestible form of calcium, which means faster calcium delivery with fewer contaminants for the dogs, cats, horses, and small pets your formulations feed.
Sized to your blend
Our standard product ships to a published gradation. Tighter or custom sizing is available on request, from coarse granules through ultra-fine, matched to kibble, treats, or supplement blends.

Pet food formulators work from three rows. CaCO₃ at 96% minimum is the calcium. Fe₂O₃ at 80 ppm maximum is the contaminant iron, and H₂O below 1% is what keeps it blending.

Aragonite Source is run by the former principals of Marcona, who harvested aragonite at Ocean Cay from the 1970s. We work in close conjunction with the Bahamian government, digging at sites chosen for uniform testing and renewability.
We're the world's largest supplier of oolitic aragonite, with millions of tons sold to hundreds of customers across 50+ years. We have never had a rejected load, and we have never failed to meet customer demand.
Material moves on our own truck fleet plus rail out of our own yard, so pet food and supplement plants get consistent, on-time deliveries at the volumes they run.
